Photos from Day 7 of our recent mission trip to Leon Mexico. We went with a team of 9 people including Mike, Susan, Matt and Joy Phillips and Roy & Hellen Duncum. The team spent the week reopening a church in the Colonnia of San Juan De Abajo. Day 7 was the big day, the day of the soccer tournament. The church had been reopened for a few weeks better never had more than a handful of people attend any event. After a week of activity and prayer walking the area, more than 120 people showed up Saturday. They played football, did crafts and even listened to a clinic by a nurse. The best part of the day was just interacting with all the people. especially the children who we were able to give stuffed animals to that had been donated by the team. It is amazing how they can have so little and still be able to smile. We hope this lays the foundation for future growth at the church. Then to end to week we went to the pastor's house to enjoy a home cooked meal prepared by his mother.    [ March 2011 / 100 images ]
